Ubuntu Economic Diplomacy Award (Africa)

A South African business operating in at least two (2) other countries inside of the African continent which has positively impacted South Africa’s image by:

  1. Displaying good business practice and governance.
  2. Investing in corporate social responsibility programmes in the countries in which they operate.
  3. Creating jobs in the countries in which they operate.
  4. Displaying innovation in responding to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A South African business operating in at least one (1) African country and two (2) countries beyond African borders that has positively impacted South Africa’s image by:

  1. Displaying good business practice and governance.
  2. Investing in corporate social responsibility programmes in the countries in which they operate.
  3. Creating jobs in the countries in which they operate.
  4. Displaying innovation in responding to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ubuntu Social Responsibility Award

A South African Non-Governmental Organisation that has projected a positive image of South Africa in at least two (2) countries abroad by acting for the benefit of society in that country.

Ubuntu Sport Diplomacy Award

An individual or organisation that has, through their excellence in the field of sport, promoted a positive image of South Africa globally.

Ubuntu Arts and Cultural Diplomacy Award (Veteran)

An individual or organization that has promoted a positive image of South African through arts and culture and/or facilitated cultural exchanges between South Africa and no fewer than two (2) other countries.

Individuals must have been practicing their art-form for a minimum of 20 years.

Ubuntu Arts and Cultural Diplomacy Award (Youth)

An individual or organization that has promoted a positive image of South African through arts and culture and/or facilitated cultural exchanges between South Africa and a minimum of two (2) other countries.

Individuals must be under the age of 35 as of 1 January 2017.

O.R. Tambo Excellence in Diplomacy Award

An award for a South African diplomat who has dedicated their lives to serving South Africa with distinction during or leading up to the new democratic dispensation and in the process has projected a positive image of South Africa by displaying the principals of O.R. Tambo –Integrity, Passion, Patriotism, and Humility.

(To be awarded on the discretion of the Minister)

O. R. Tambo Lifetime Achievement Award

An award for a South African citizen who has dedicated their lives to serving South Africa with distinction during or leading up to the new democratic dispensation and in the process has projected a positive image of South Africa by displaying the principals of O.R. Tambo – Integrity, Passion, Patriotism, and Humility.

(To be awarded on the discretion of the Minister)

 

Ubuntu Youth Diplomacy Award

An individual, between the age of 15 and 35, who through his/her actions, activities and achievements, has promoted South Africa as a dynamic country with an enabling environment for youth to thrive and contribute to making South Africa and the world a better place.
